Other Useful Information:
Basic principles for newer users:
Most books use 10% juice (-110 lines), reduced juice is often at 5% (-105), others varied lines between 102-110. For baseball you must find the best line to maximize profit. Juice only matters when you lose, but losing is inevitable.
Examples of calculations:
Spread bet at -105. Team A favored by 4 points (-4). Team B dog with 4 points (+4). Take either side at -105. Using bet value of 3 units. If won Units gain "3", if a loss the units lossed is "3.15"
Moneyline bet. Taking a baseball game with favorite at -129 and dog at +119 for 3 units. A win for the favorite gains "3" units and a loss nets "minus 3.87". A win for the dog gains "3.57 units, while a loss equals minus "3".
Run lines in baseball and puck lines in hockey combine some of both the above situations. The run/puck line is always -1.5 or +1.5 runs/goals. The juice can still vary like the moneyline. A baseball favorite may be -140 on the moneyline and +140 on the runline (for example)
This site can be used in many ways. Mirror the exact picks every day, use this and other sources for a combined strategy, double check your own plays, or simply to bet heavier on your hometown team when in agreement or reduce when contradicting. Plus many other ways.
Investment and long term profits:
Games are assigned values of 1,2,3,4, or 5 units. Most in the 2 or 3 range. Unit value is determined by you. Suggested values are 1% of your betting bankroll per unit. Very aggressive players can use 2,4,6,8, 10%. However, that is not advised. An account of $10,000 should be betting $100 per unit or 100-500 per game. Sports investment is not a sprint, but rather a marathon. If you look at the units won over the last 365 days you will see that even at a single dollar per unit you will make money.
Always search for the best lines on every game. Open an account if needed to get the line (and new account bonus). Having a dozen books is not unusual. Spreading your funds around is the better option for many reasons.
Always take reduced juice over bonus when given an option. Take cash bonus over freeplay. Always read the stipulations for cash outs when taking bonuses--they can be restrictive.
If you find yourself on a call list (the lodge will never sell your name) you will be inundated with scammers looking to separate you from your money.
Avoid sending anybody any money based on verbal claims. These guys are great salesmen, but remember that if they can't prove it--it is not worth hearing. If they prove it verbally even 3-4 times, it still is not worth a dime. Anyone can win a few games in a row.
You will get calls that simply say they have a winner. They will give it on good faith if you take their call the next day. If they lose they disappear. They win (once)--all of a sudden they are unbeatable and worth $200 in good faith money. Others simply sign up for a service or two (a service like winnerslodge.com) and "re-sell" or regurgitate someone elses information at rates 1000% higher.
Avoid any "advice service" that gives you links to a sportsbook. Believe it or not these guys are getting a percentage of your LOSSES. Yes, that is worth repeating. The service you pay for winning picks gets paid only if you lose. Hard to fathom? Go to the web site that they link and find the affiliate information. It is readily available as that is a top marketing tool for the sportsbook. The affiliates get a percentage of the "take".
Winnerslodge.com wants no part of their funny business.
